The Lady Falcons opened league play this evening on our home floor against the Kangs of Lake Washington. The ladies had another great start jumping out of the gate for a 27-5 first quarter lead. The Kangs showed a 2-3 zone early but senior point guard Amanda Frost brought on the perimeter game. She finished the evening with a school record 6 three balls on 6-14 shooting behind the arc.
Again the defensive pressure was a key reason behind the success this evening. Showing both a 2-2-1 full court press to go along with the 1-2-1-1 the Falcons kept the pressure on. Ali Forde would finish the evening with a team high 6 steals.
The Falcons would finish the evening with 10 players scoring points and four players in double digits. Frost with 20, Gilkey and Forde with 14 each, and Nybo with 12. Maddie Graham added great energy off the bench and finished with 9 points and 8 rebounds in a little less than two quarters of play.
The ladies did another fine job of sharing the ball. The team finished with 19 assists with Crystal Nybo leading the way with 5. Melissa Gilkey was the force on the glass again with a team high 12 rebounds.
