Woodinville vs. Garfield (W 54-33)

The Lady Falcons had been waiting for this Lady Bulldog match up all season long. The Bulldogs had won the last 11 out of 12 games between the two schools including a 60-50 victory last year. The Bulldogs return all their starters from last years state tournament team. They have been one of the preseason favorties to win Kingco. They have size and they have speed.

. The Ladies from Garfield jumped out early and took an 8-5 lead just minutes into the game. The Falcons quickly responded with 8 straight points to finish the quarter with a 13-8 lead. The Falcons slowly continued to build their lead in the second to finish the half up 26-18. Ali Forde had 9 of her game high 17 points in the first half but was forced to sit the last few minutes after picking up her 3rd foul.

The third quarter has been good to Woodinville all year long and the ladies went on a 15-5 run to lead by 18 at the end of three. Melissa Gilkey and Amanda Frost each hit big threes and Ali Forde finished some big hoops inside.

The fourth quarter was uneventul and the Falcons finished with a 54-33 victory. The Bulldogs did play without sophomore point guard Shanice Robinson who is arguable the quickest player in the league. Nevertheless a great victory over a respected team. Crystal Nybo held the Bulldogs leading scorer Nyasha Sarju to a season low 1 point. Cora McManus led the Bulldogs with 11 points. Forde and Gilkey led the Falcons with a combined 28 points and 23 rebounds. The Falcons had a season low 13 turnovers.

The win puts the Falcons at 11-0 on the season. It is the best start in school history. As a matter of trivia, the 2004-05 team lost their 11th game of the season to Garfield after starting the season 10-0. They lost 56-58 in overtime.
