Woodinville vs. Bothell (W 74-33)

It was a home "quad night" against our crosstown rival -- the Bothell Cougars. The Falcons from Woodinville would win three of the four games including the 6:30 Lady Falcon varsity game. With the win the ladies from Woodinville extended their school best record to 12-0 on the season.

The girls jumped out quickly in the first quarter with pressure at all ends of the floor. They showed great energy and hit the floor often for loose balls. The score at the end of the first quarter was 26-7 in favor of the blue and green. Melissa Gilkey and Amanda Frost combined for 13 of the first quarter points. Ali Forde kept the points coming in the second quarter with a perfect 5-5 shooting from the field. The score at the half was 44-19.

The third quarter has been the Falcons quarter all year but not tonight. The ladies from Bothell came to battle and held their own for most of the quarter. Crystal Nybo was responsible for most of the Woodinville scoring and tallied 7 points in the quarter. The score at the end of three was 56-27.

Everyone played in the final stanza and nine different Falcons scored points on the night. Melissa Gilkey led the way with 18 on 7-12 shooting including two behind the arc. Ali Forde, Crystal Nybo, and Amanda Frost followed with 15, 11, and 10. Forde and Gilkey led the effort on the boards again with 10 and 8 respectively. Guards Sarah Hale and Carmen Vasilatos each had a team high 4 assists on the evening.

Next Wednesday the Falcons face the 11-1 Lady Knights from Newport.
