Woodinville vs. Newport (L 41-50)

The 9th ranked Knights from Newport handed the 2nd ranked Lady Falcons their first loss of the season on the Knights home floor. The girls from Woodinville started slowly and trailed 9-2 after just a few minutes into the game. Melissa Gilkey and Ali Forde entered the game midway through the quarter and injected some quick energy to help narrow the margin to 15-14 by the end of the first .

The Falcons then played quarters 2 and 3 without starting senior Crystal Nybo who was not feeling well. The Falcons would struggle without one of their best passers and playmakers on the floor. Both teams played back and forth throughout quarter number two but Betsy Kingma hit a deep three at the buzzer to give the Knights a 26-24 lead at the half.

Chanel Cambronero would hit some big shots for the Knights in the third quarter while Ali Forde scored most of the points at the other end of the floor. At the end of three quarters the Knights had extended their lead to 39-35.

The Knights from Newport ended up being the tougher team in the fourth quarter. The Knights limited the Falcons to a measley 6 points. The only Falcon that scored was Melissa GIlkey. The ladies from Woodinville started fouling at the end and the Knights knocked down their free throws to win by the final margin of 50-41. Melissa Gilkey led the Falcons with 15 points. Betsy Kingma led the Knights with 17.
